Kpop:my family

Everyone has their music preferences. As you may know by now, mine is kpop. We, kpop fans, often say this is our family. And then people start saying/thinking "this is stupid" or "how can you say that? you call a bunch of stranger your family?"

However it's so not true.

Maybe we don't meet personally, but talk a lot more to each other then to our so called "real world friends". I tell you, it's not because we don't want personally reachable people as our friends, it's rather because some people still tend to be still not so acceptable on this topic, whereas nowadays so many other things accepted. It's like if you listen this shit then just go away- and they didn't even give us a chance to explain how it works. So yeah, kpop fans tend to be introverts so they just don't have to deal with the people who are making fun of them.  For me, I'm not really sensitive, if people don't like what I do, then I just avoid them, on the other hand, I'm not the type, who will brag about kpop a bunch. I talk about it when something relevant to this topic comes up, but I when I'm with my "real world friends" I just don't tend to mention it, since I know they wouldn't really understand. My family doesn't really approve to this either. They think what most of the parents, siblings: it's childish, only 13-year-olds listen music like this etcetc.

If you're not a kpop fan you can't understand how much it hurts, that they wouldn't listen. Based on this I could judge everyone who listens rock, regular pop or classical music. Kpop is like pop, just in another language. I don't know why is that still so weird.

Many people fall for Spanish, French, Italian language. We fell for Korean. Is it so bad?

Since we understand each other way better than the above mentioned people, we are far not that unfamiliar as you think. I would say, maybe I know some of my online friends better than my real world ones. People build walls around themselves in their personal relationships, even when they are with friends. Kpop fans are a lot more open. I don't know if it's because we are online or it comes with the belonging of kpop family. And maybe we don't continuously use our real name, but we are not afraid to reveal our identity. Proof: I have some of my friends' address.

What I am most thankful & proud is the teamwork & harmony we have. If something happens in one fandom, the others will stand by the hurt's side or will cheer with them. Sad, but good proof the now ongoing case of Kris of EXO. He filed his company because he was/is mistreated and doing this in Korea especially against one of the biggest companies needs a lot of courage and a really bad situation. I was never an EXO fan, but I was never against them either. As I read the news yesterday, it wasn't a question, I'll give my support to their fandom and stand by Kris' side.
We can understand each other from half words, cheer the other up, if he/she is sad, give the feeling of protection of the insecure ones, support each other. However I'm disappointed I can't do it personally.

We get looked down often, whereas most of the people should learn from the members of kpop fandom.

I have never, ever seen as supportive people people as the kpop fans are. Never, ever seen as hardworking artist as k-idols.

Maybe we don't meet but I believe we have the strongest bond.

I'm proud & glad I can be a member of this awesome family.

Let's cheer for a long time together! ^_^
